Moore Cove Falls

More Photos

Moore Cove Falls is a very unique fall. The fall spills into a large open area. It is possible to walk behind the fall here. Moore Creek flows over a shelf of rock and falls 50 feet to fill the small cave with the sound of rushing water.

Moore Cove Falls offers something for every season. In the spring, wildflowers abound in the woods surrounding the falls. In the summer brilliant foliage covers the cove. In the fall, the leaves can be very striking as autumn colors fill the woods. In the winter, the falls provide icicles clinging to the rocks.

Directions to the falls:

  1. From Brevard, take US 276 toward Waynesville, NC.
  2. Drive north on US 276 for 6.5 miles. (1 mile from Looking Glass)
  3. There will be a parking area on the right.
  4. The trail begins beside the bridge over Looking Glass Creek.
  5. Walk across the foot bridge and begin the trial to the right at the Moore Cove signpost.
